Ladies' Groups

The United Methodist Women is made up all circle members of the Cynthiana First United Methodist Church and meets with the women of other churches in the district quarterly. The UMW mission is to provide spiritual growth, nurture and outreach, open communications, program resources and a commonality of service to the Lord. Webber-McDaniel Group: Assists with special mission projects such as Red Bird School, Nathaniel Mission, Methodist Children’s home in Versailles, KY. Also, the perpetual care members remembered with cards, visits, etc. Contact: Oma Doyle or Joyce Smith.

Rees-Lebus Group: Assists with the above mission projects, as well as the local food pantry, Ida Spence ministry, and FUMC special projects. Contact: Lottie Barlow.

Circle of Sisters: Wholly funds the Family Bible Adventure, sponsors the annual Christmas Bazzar, assists with Julia’s Quilting group which provides quilts for many causes, and other needed services to the church, missions, and community. Contact: Tracy Brown.

Prayer Chain: Contact: Frances Cox

Julia’s Quilting Group: Named for the late Julia Boulden, who was instrumental in getting the group started, this group meets a couple of Saturday mornings a month (times to be determined and announced monthly). Everyone is welcome from beginners up. Quilts are taken to the shut-ins, given to all FUMC graduates, new babies, etc. For more information, contact Meg Smith Ammerman.

Gentlemens' Groups

United Methodist Men: Meets for Bible study and to support the pastor to meet the needs of the local church, congregation, missions, and community. Also serve as the local contact for the Mountain Mission in Southeastern Ky. The United Methodist Men meet quarterly with men of other district churches. Contact: Bob Anderson.

Promise Keepers: A national organization whose mission is to ignite and unite men to become passionate followers of Jesus Christ through the effective communication of seven promises to God, their fellow men, family, church and the world. The Promise Keepers meet on the first, second and fourth Thursday of each month at the home of Steve Strawzell. Contact Steve for more information.
