Youth Organizations & Services

Youth Group: The youth group plans many varied activities all year long. Come join us for Bible study, fun, movies, bell choir, music, special services and more. It’s a great way to make new friends! Anyone interested in joining our Youth Group should call Tallu Smith at 859-588-1227.

Boy scout troop 60Boy Scouts: First UMC is home to Boy Scout Troop 60. Troop 60 puts American flags throughout town and on deceased servicemen’s graves at the cemeteries in town on special days. They also do other projects in support of the community. Troop 60 has produced several Eagle Scout recipients – the highest honor a scout can attain. Recently, we also welcomed Cub Scout Troop 60 into sponsorship by First UMC. We're pleased to be able to support these groups as they instill positive values and usefull skills in the next generation of our community's leaders.

Girl Scouts: Preparations are underway for FUMC to sponsor a local Girl Scout Troop. More information will be forthcoming.

preschoolPre-School: First UMC conducts preschool for children ages 3-5 in the Educational Building on the first floor Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Teachers are Ginger and Heather Moore. For enrollment information, contactGinger at 859-235-0528

Children's Program Bible Study, music and a puppet ministry. The Children's Program takes place each Wednesday after the “Gathering.”

Bell Choir is made up of students in the youth group and is led by Tallu Smith. The Bell Choir practices on Sundays at 5:00 pm.

Vacation Bible School is a week-long summer Bible study music, fellowship and children’s arts and crafts. For children through adults.
